Teachers are expected to utilize technology in their instruction and lessons, but many teachers do not have the skills to properly use and integrate different types of technology. One type of technology that is fairly easy to implement into the classroom is video. Video can be used for several educational purposes. For example, teachers can videotape students working on activities and then review the tapes to see how different students perform, or the teacher may choose to involve the entire class in producing an instructional video for other classes or the entire school. A well-produced video is much more professional and effective than a poorly developed one. The problem is few educators have learned simple skills that would dramatically improve their final product. The process of producing a quality video for the classroom is divided into 3 stages: Pre-Production (before the video is made), Production (during the making of the video), and Post-Production (after the video is made). We have created a set of three sub-modules that will allow the educator, upon completion, to have the necessary skills to create a professional video for the classroom. |
